REVIEW - Benefit cosmetics "Some Kind-A Gorgeous" (Medium)

Today I'm going to talk about another one of Benefit Cosmetics product. As mentioned in the post title I'm reviewing "Some Kind-A Gorgeous". I bought it online in shade MEDIUM.
To be honest i was pretty clueless about this product when i initially purchased it, but then i did a little bit of online research on what the product is all about and i got my hopes up...SIGH!
No, no wait it's not a bad product (Hey Benefit, i still love you...big fan! really...). It's not bad, but its not magical either. Well what's the verdict then, you may ask.
So let me first give you a general idea of what the product actually is and does, and then we can all go ahead and be judgmental.
It's a foundation faker. Yup! That's what it says on the packaging. And Oh! what a total sucker i am for all such witty and cute packaging...another SIGH!

WHAT IS IT
It's a foundation faker, which i think means that its not a foundation but pretends to be one. Obviously then it doesn't give the proper coverage of a foundation.

WHAT'S IT LIKE
This has a cream-to-powder formula which makes the application smooth and easy. It is supposed to leave a matte velvety finish on your face...powdery, not creamy.
The medium shade that Ive used looks peachy/orangeish but when blended on my skin, it sorta matches my warm skin tone without making me look pasty/clownish.
Ideally, its meant to support your natural skin tone rather than covering it up.
Comes in 3 shades only - light, medium and deep. Hmm.

WHAT DO I THINK
First off i was never too fond of using foundations until the day i realized that I'm not a teenager anymore and my skin actually needs it. So, i bought this after experimenting with few other real foundations. And my first thought was..."OK, I'm not impressed".
It smells like crayons...seriously, WHY?! That's already a big put off for me. I don't want anything smelling like that on my face. Still, i decided to give it a go. I always use my fingers for applying any kind of foundation, works better for me. Once it was on my face it did give me an evened out smooth look, reducing a bit of redness on my face. It didn't conceal any of my skin imperfections. Maybe, this is something more similar to a BB cream with a powdery finish?!
I would say this is no shortcut to gorgeous skin (as implied on the packaging).
It's definitely for people with little or no skin issues.
And you know what, this is one pricey product i can easily skip for another miraculous Benefit product.

Have you used "Some Kind-A Gorgeous"? Would love to hear what you think of it.

Lottsa Love.
